Social value commitments arrive as a number (out of a bid, a contract condition, or a target you have set yourself), not as a tidy count of placements. You can fund any figure you like and we convert it to placement-weeks, so what you deliver matches what you promised instead of rounding up to our nearest package or leaving part of your commitment unspent.
£225 per placement-week, falling to £200 at programme scale
- £10,000 47.0 placement-weeks at £212.50 per week
- £18,000 90.0 placement-weeks at £200 per week
- £30,000 150.0 placement-weeks at £200 per week
Placement-weeks are the unit National TOMs NT131 is measured in, so this is the figure that goes straight into your return. We round down, never up.
-
You get the cohort average, not one person's story
Your contribution funds a share of everything we deliver in the period rather than one named young person. What you report is the average across the cohort, so your evidence does not swing on how a single placement happened to go.
-
Every placement-week is claimed once
We never sell more placement-weeks in a period than we can deliver in it, and each week is allocated to exactly one funder. No two organisations can put the same delivery in their return, which is the part that has to hold up when someone checks.
-
If a placement ends early, that is our problem
Young people's circumstances change and some placements finish short. We hold capacity back rather than selling every week we have, so weeks lost that way are made good from the reserve. Your allocation is what we agreed, not what happened to survive the period.
-
The volume rate still applies
Funding a share does not cost you the discount. Your contribution converts at the same per-week rate as the largest package it covers, so a £30,000 commitment is priced like a programme, not like a one-off placement.
Contributions are pooled across the reporting period. We confirm your exact placement-week allocation in writing before delivery starts, and again in the end-of-period evidence pack. There is no minimum; smaller contributions are welcome and work the same way.

What sponsoring a young person delivers
18–21 · Volunteer development
A peer mentor, multiplying the impact
Started out as a participant, then trained as a peer volunteer, going on to support dozens of local people with device set-up and basic skills.
16–18 · Work placement
Off the NEET list, into work-ready
Referred to us at risk of becoming NEET, this young person completed a structured placement, built a portfolio of digital skills, and moved on into further training.
17–19 · Digital skills trainee
Confidence that reaches a whole session
Built confidence through our basic skills programme, then began helping run outreach sessions, supporting older adults and newcomers to get online at library drop-ins.
Illustrative examples based on typical outcomes from our young people's programme: composites, not individual case studies.

A placement is usually sold as an outcome for the young person on it. That is half of what you are buying. The young people on placement are our Digital Champions: they deliver the digital inclusion sessions themselves, so the people they help are a second group of beneficiaries funded by the same money.
-
01
The young person on the placement
Twelve weeks of structured work experience as a Digital Champion, with mentoring, a portfolio of digital skills and a reference. Evidenced against NT131 and reported in your pack.
-
02
The people they help
Older adults, newcomers and low-income households getting online and staying safe there, supported by that young person in session. Evidenced against digital inclusion measures and reported alongside.
These sit against different measures and are reported separately, so both count without either being claimed twice.
